| Vision and Values
The SAS team desire to do our part in the Great Commission by: 1) Planting new reproducing churches 2) Equipping and helping existing churches to reproduce 3) Training aspiring church planters 4) Spawning new church planting teams to penetrate England, Europe & the world. 5) Giving on-going support to these teams Our present goal in this process is to see at least one apostolic Church Planting centre come into existence. Our present practice is governed by Biblical values based around the Great Commission of Gen 1v27 & 28, and Matt 28 v 18-20. Gen 1 v 27 1) GOD BLESSED THEM. It's all of grace. God has the pre-eminence in everything. Unless he blesses us, we can't be fruitful. Unless Jesus sends ( Matt 28/Rom10) we can't go. 2) GOD BLESSED THEM God's way of filling/reaching the world starts with a team created in His team image. Therefore, as god is team (Father, Son & holy Spirit) created a team (Adam & Eve), prioritised team (Jesus first gathered a team) & practised team (Apostles nearly always seen working in teams), we set an extremely high value on teams as based in the Godhead, and His reproduction of team in marriage. This value spawns the following: * Unity through mutual honour makes a team & gives it authority. * Authority comes from God & is to be used to turn people to God (not to the one with delegated authority). * Authority & leadership were given by God to His 1st team, male & female, within God-given boundaries. Therefore, all believers can function in gifts of leadership within the framework of male Headship, in team and church. Like marriage the primary issue is not hierarchical but, 'How can I function so as to bring honour to God & others?' 3) BE FRUITFUL Our priority is to be like Jesus and see others manifest the fruit of His Spirit. Christ-like character development is the priority from which charisma can flow. This means that the making, maturing and multiplying of disciples is our goal. 4) INCREASE IN NUMBER Our conviction is that making reproducing disciples multiplies their number, and that though slow at first will reach the world in the most effective and God-honouring manner. 5) FILL THE EARTH Like the multiplication of families in creation, our goal is to multiply family churches that scatter and fill the earth rather than gather and form huge congregations. 6) SUBDUE The goal of the team and churches is to see the kingdom of God come in their lives and location. |
